As seen on reddit, user "General_Hardware" happened to have all the motors and microcontrollers to drive a 3D printer and wood to build a frame. The only part they didn't have was an extruder. So they drilled a hole in an old soldering iron and put an auger through it to drive the melted plastic out.
Is this sort of thing a good idea? Probably not, but then again if we stuck to good ideas we wouldn't have electricity on our homes, would we? Personally if I had everything but an extruder I would probably just build a CNC router with my dremel tool, but I'm clearly not the same sort of mad Genius that General_Hardware is. So good job.
