That's just a shadow... right?

I was hoping I had dodged the bullet somehow. But I guess not. The platform timed out while trying to come up to temp. I swear I peeked at it this morning to make sure it was okay, and it was. Then suddenly it wasn't.

If you don't know what I'm showing you here, the connector to the heated build platform on replicators is known to burn out. The part wasn't rated for the heat that's passing through it. But right now it's an easy fix, if I let this go it could damage the heated build platform, so I've got it disconnected. I'm not totally out of commission. I could start experimenting with PLA (I've got a little now thanks to Mr Joseph Chiu). But no ABS until I get the replacement part from Makerbot.
